Which Machine Embroidery Formats Will I Receive?

We currently provide nine formats within the Zipped file you will receive, those being DST, EXP, HUS, JEF, PCS, PES, VIP, VP3 and XXX (unless otherwise specified on the products page). We do not sell/support any other formats.

We recommend not opening up the files in any form of conversion software, just upload them straight to a USB stick and transferring them to your machine directly. Often when files are opened up via another software programs that are not native to the file (we use Hatch to digitize with) the fill effects that I give the patterns can get errors and not read properly.

Unfortunately, the different software programs out there (some examples being... Embrilliance, Sew What Pro, Buzz Tools, etc.) often do not work well together. It is for this reason that we ask that you skip uploading to any type of software before embroidering your pattern.

That being said, if you do choose to open up the pattern in software, then you need to set your software settings to open the file as a STITCH file and NOT an OBJECT or OUTLINE file. If you do that, your software will not read and convert the stitches it will just open the sewing stitch file without any changes to the stitches.

The table below will help you figure out which format refers to which embroidery machine type.

Check your machine's manual and your dealer for their input on the matter, too.
